The website analyzed data regarding what states have won the lottery over the last ten years. In the past decade, the residents in 11 states and Washington, D.C., haven't won a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot. While the 12 jurisdictions haven't won a jackpot, Lucky Me ranked the states by population, which gave us the list of five above.

According to the data, a Kentucky resident last won the lottery on December 11, 2010, and they couldn't even win it alone. The lucky winner matched all of the winning Powerball numbers to win the $37.5 million jackpot. However, someone in Illinois also matched all the winning numbers, so they split the jackpot.

It seems like Kentucky is way overdue for a big win without having to split it!

The least overdue states for a big win

On the flip side of things, the bottom five states on the list are states that are least overdue for a jackpot win and seem to be hogging these jackpots! Those five states are:

• New York
• Tennessee
• New Jersey
• Vermont
• New Hampshire

• Mega Millions - The most common winning Mega Millions lottery numbers are 4, 9, 18, 39, and 46.
• Powerball - The most common winning Powerball lottery numbers are 9, 10, 11, 13, and 17.
